  7. The US recognized Carlos Perez but he was impeached and removed for corruption, generally the US prefered to support military junta in Venezuela.

Venezuela already had corrupt liberal democracy, the economy crumbled long before socialist ever came to power, End the armed incursions of far right death squads into Venezuala from Colombia and Guyana and then there is no more threat from or to Guyana, end the US and OAS sanctions against Venezuela and let the economy recover or collapse on it's own merits without foreign interference, if you want maduro to fall, take away the scapegoats, and for the Venezuelan populace it's just the humane things to do..

Well marches in support of Maduro were taking place all across Venezuela today, if they tried again there they would have been mobbed by thousands and the police/army wouldnt have tried to protect them. If you want venezuelans to stop migrating to the US, then just stop the sanctions against Venezuela, it has the resources to be the fastest growing gdp in South America. You have every reason to do so, even if you dont like Maduro and think the socialist government would fail, at least if you quit the sanctions against Venezuela, you get a win win, either the economy recovers and people dont feel the need to migrate, or it still gets worse but Maduro doesnt get to use the US as an excuse, what does the US have to lose?

They still have the mineral wealth and oil, that hasnt changed, the market did, sending Venezuela into an ecconomic crisis that was anything but beautiful coupled with the graft corruption wrought by Accion Democratico and Carlos Perez, the economy crumbled years before the socialist took over, as historical precedent has shown that socialism taking over doesnt happen when everything is going well, After the socialist took over and rooted out said corruption, for a time the economy was in recovery, then it was saddled with economic sanctions meant directly to cripple said recovery because "socialism is bad" and it cant be allowed to be seen as a successful model as that would directly challenge the US's hegemony, not to mention destabilize the region, imagine if millions of impoverished Colombians and Chileans saw socialism succeed right next door it would be a domino effect that the US and the OAS would never be willing to risk, for obvious reasons, if I'm wrong, then end the sanctions, if the economy still fails to recover then you've proven your point, and Maduro will lose support, whereas if the economy recovers, Venezuela gets to be a beautiful place with fantastic people again, I'm just saying after 26 years of attempting to overthrow Venezuelan socialism, maybe accept that it's not working and try something else? That seems rational.

  17. If Ukraine refuse to pay what's owed to the US than the US has the ability to enforce an arms embargo over Ukraine that would be no less legal than the blockade it still holds against Cuba. As to mexico, they do not have the means to lend aid to Ukraine when they are already preparing for a potential invasion by the US.
