“…how we divided ourselves…” We didn’t “divide ourselves.” Most Americans still felt that we lived under the constitutional system established by the founders. Events may have creeped up so slowly that the changes occurred largely unnoticed but, power has unquestionably been consolidated over the last several decades by an elite clique that has no respect for the country’s founding principles. People who wish to live in an exceptional constitutional republic with limited government have every reason to be justly concerned by the actions of those who seek to destroy the legacy of over two centuries.

It’s indeed beyond tragic that these issues have been successfully spun to appear as simple pendulum swings between “Republicans and Democrats.” Call it “the Swamp,” “the Deep State,” or a communist insurgency. It’s unquestionably a calculated slow-boil coup d e’tats that now controls all aspects of society — not least being the next generation’s thoughts and beliefs. The 2020 election proved we can no longer even vote an alternative to the course we’re on.

Andrew Harper - There it is, that classic condescending leftism that assumes any opposing viewpoint is unknowledgeable. I thoroughly understand the nature of economic dynamics in America. A locally run police and fire department doesn’t bother me in the slightest but an FBI monitored school board meeting does. The economies of China and America are indeed “mixed” but ultimately corporatist — which used to be called “fascism.” The state continues to become further centralized, intrusive, and punitive but it’s still not as all powerful as some control freaks would like. The fact that there are people who wish to free themselves from such overbearing compulsion shouldn’t bother you. What seems to bother those who often claim to be unaligned is that someone out their might be free from state oversight. Some people just want to be left alone. Hardly a crime.

@aaronguarrasi4347 - Very well-stated but on a more mundane level it really does come down to those who wish to freely exercise their will vs. those who wish to control others. There’s an entire spectrum of intellectual discourse that people offer to justify their allegiances. While the contemporary Jacobins/Marxists can come up with a million “reasons” why others should be enslaved to their theories a person really needs make no justification for simply wishing to be left alone.

@lalaboards - Yep… While Marxism is a codified analysis of history and society, more generally it can be seen as a mentality or even psychological type. The Jacobins in the French revolution weren’t Marxists but were certainly kindred spirits — control freaks seeking to build a new world under their absolute control.

@wiscokiddd - Well…your rant is consistent with the now widely-held understanding that leftists hate America and its constitution. Essentially they hate limited government because they think their values should be imposed on the public. They hate their fellow citizens. There are elections coming up of course and we’ll see how well the voting public sides with your worldview. BTW, the “racism!” moniker has become irrelevant to objective conversation. The sky is NOT falling Chicken Little. Take your compatriots in destruction, destitution, crime, and punitive regulation and lord over the Banana Republic of your choice.
