  2. It’s a common symptom of leftism. Because “progressive” ideology is so ideological — almost religious in nature — they naturally polarize against “other” religions. From the French revolution on, radical leftism has sought to banish religious belief from the body politick as it threatens the”new” belief they seek to impose. There is also a kind of intellectual arrogance that sees itself as being above the simple beliefs of “the little people.” They literally see religious belief as going hand in hand with Walmart shoppers and rodeos (caricature and hyperbole intended).

  3. Can we really take seriously any “study” done by The Atlantic? The intellectual and pseudo-intellectual class has been wrong every time about everything. Since the time of Plato, wannabe “guardians” have brought nothing but misery to the common citizen. The government wants its country back and one person is now standing in their way. Thank god for the uncouth, brusque, and crudely-mannered Donald Trump, the only contemporary leader who knows that the government the governs best governs least.
