Maybe it’s just me but I don’t need YouTube providing WHO’s “context.” DeSantis is infinitely more honest and informative anyway.

@stevenl5415 - Coming from my “ignorant” but clearly more mannered perspective I, like many people, do not immediately obey the advice of “experts.” These international bureau-institutions are riddled with partisan schemers more concerned with political end games than objective policy. Considering deaths, illness, economics, and overall success, DeSantis far outdid the statist clones of other states. Some will no doubt blindly follow the edicts and commands of anyone proclaimed to be an expert — wear a mask, close your schools, fire those who won’t take an experimental vaccine, get you latest booster, and pat yourself on the back for being compliant and uncritical.

@stevenl5415 - There is such a thing as cost-benefit of course. With that calculus, it’s possible I suppose, to save a child’s life by keeping all children out of school. You no doubt wouldn’t like the Florida surgeon general. Given your clear dislike of DeSantis and/or his policies, you’re probably a fan of Gretchen Whitmer and Andrew Cuomo (to name a couple that took a very opposite stand from DeSantis). I’m sure you’re disappointed to see the Covid monster fading in significance to most people. No worries, climate change will provide reason to lock down the counter-revolutionary enemies of the people 😱

@stevenl5415 - We can both ramble endlessly with predictable points. A loved one on a ventilator doesn’t instantly make me want to obey a state apparatus that has continually lied to the public (“a pandemic of the unvaccinated”). One can be equally concerned for loved ones who have experienced horrible side effects from the experimental jab, or those who have lost their jobs because an omnipotent state has suddenly become anti-choice with what “people do with their bodies.” The bottom line is that we both clearly take a partisan stand. My issue with comments like yours is the phony posing that your views are somehow hyper-objective and beyond garden-variety partisan allegiance. One of us has a greater concern for constitutional freedoms and individual expression and one of us is compliant to dictates from above with the insistence that others comply with their worldview. So, we’ve taken a side, symbolically, Ron DeSantis vs. Gretchen Whitmer. I’m comfortable with my choice.

@stevenl5415 - It’s understood among honest medical personnel that a mask, aside from blatant sneezing in close proximity is akin to keeping mosquitoes away with a chain link fence. You must indeed be a rare individual to be so libertarian in so many issues but a cliche’ leftist regarding the Corona virus. Possible, but I’m skeptical.
