@jebise1126 it isn't as bad with the supercavitating ones as you can't hear the sub. Also, what makes you think it has to supercavitate right away? Faster torpedoes work well at long range as being outrun to max range is less feasible. Imagine trying to hear and avoid several regular torpedoes in time with that screaming around? It is its own noisemaker. They enable a huge degree of tactical flexibility even if the weapon itself is not directly effective.
