  1. I'm pretty sure many already do. You can even use mechanical regeneration with a flywheel that used to be done with buses even. The biggest issue here is... its a brake van. Most trains brake on each car now. This is the big impediment. You need generators/motors in every car like an electric train.

I'll point out the biggest issue- the only reason they don't already bake regenitively is each car brakes on its own, otherwise you need a brake van at the back and it is much slower and less efficient. Electric trains have motors in each car's wheel set- diesel-electric do not. Realistically in a modern train it would only regenerate the carriage's OWN momentum at best.

  8. One day, Thunderfoot, you'll step out of chemistry and see just how far this rot spreads. You'll be branded a science denier soon enough. Trust the science Thunderfoot! Can't you see it's green? That makes it good! I'm so jaded. Pop science and news reflects so little of real climate science even you have barely an ounce of it. I have a 100% paper or its bullshit approach now including all my medications (which are accessible - some shockingly unsuitable or untested, some proven in fake labs exposed in the BMJ for example, most boring and pretty damn strong evidence) All these policies, schemes etc are self enrichment. They don't WANT to solve the problem they want to get rich selling you bullshit. You can pay your way into many journals now. Even when they aren't it seems like they aren't even read through. Authority goes way too far. Try it, pick a university andyou can pay for a study that will prove whatever you want. And you can pay a journal to feature it. I feel more and more real science is sprinkled in as an afterthought in some. You say 'green' or 'environment' real scientists brain turn off.
