  2. It should actually be compared to recovery rate, and yes. The problem is that while you can ventilate and keep a certain number alive, maybe 50 per hospital, once you reach that number, EVERYONE ELSE DIES. plus it takes weeks to stabilize. Also, it appears to scar the lungs of survivors, which may impair or even kill later. And yes. Treatment stops for other illnesses, medication becomes scarce, food stops being available with the panic, people even start killing each other.

  3. People in my wife's office cough on people etc, think its funny because 'they won't die from things like that as they aren't vulnerable.' Also, death to recovery rate doesn't seem good. Also there are reports of permanent lung damage, deaths aren't everything. Glad you discussed spanish flu. If people take it a little seriously, we can drastically cut down the threat level. Considering china is going nuclear over this, it's a bit bloody worse than the flu. This will cost them billions in trade. It is either highly transmissible, highly deadly, or both. Also, the flu is really dangerous. They think the cold they had was the flu therefore it isn't that bad.

  4. Problem is if people actually panic lots will die without the virus, panic buying, lynch mobs, profiteering monopolization of food supply etc.
