  1. Also I should point out the Arwings have taken on stealth ships before in Star Fox Assault that were the Andross fleet's "Secret Weapons". They blew through them like they were nothing.

  4. I'd argue that its not, VG ships are more awesome when you can fly it since you know everything it can do, since its more "show and use yourself instead of tell"

  8. That "Small gunship" has wiped out entire fleets of cruisers and smaller fighters in a single run as its hyper lasers can shread through enemy armor, not to mention its Nova Bombs have the payload of a small nuclear bomb that can make quick work of squadrons in one simple blow.

The Arwings have taken down stealth squadrons like they were nothing, not to mention their G-Diffusion systems allow the pilot to perform tight maneuvers no other ship can handle without causing the pilots and crew to pass out, in fact even with the diffusion the Arwings still pull out an incredibly intense force, to the point where the pilot actually amputate their own legs to prevent blood rushing to their feet, replacing them with mechanical prosthetics. If Joker tried that he'd probably die. Plus the Star Fox  team matches the Mako and Hammerhead with the Landmaster Tank, which for one doesn't handle like a drunk rhino, can hover and can quickly dodge to avoid enemy fire, not to mention its heavily armored to outperform the Hammerhead. The Thanix cannon is a powerful weapon but its also a slow moving beam as seen when using it on the Collector ship beyond the Omega 4 relay, again the Arwings can easily out maneuver them since that weapon is designed to be used against large ships. Not to mention the Barrel err Aileron Roll creates a defection shield that literally causes any sort of plasma or laser to literally bounce off the ship without damage.
