  2. PrimeVinyl Don't try to compare Metroid to other games I know perfectly well what it is. But that still doesn't change that Samus's freakout with Ridley is extremely poor writing. If this was her first encounter with Ridley since the incident with her parents, than this would be fine. But it doesn't matter if she thinks Ridley can't die, BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE CAN DEFEAT HIM, SINCE SHE HAS DONE SO MULTIPLE TIMES. Her PTSD is completely unnatural and the mear sight of him after she's constantly killed him should not be a trigger because that's not how PTSD works.

  10. Wheatley The Robot Well for one we've seen Samus take on Ridley multiple times, both before the events of Other M and after in Metroid Fusion, YET NOT ONCE does she freak out like this. We're also talking about the woman who was raised by the chozo's and became a no nonsense bounty hunter that wiped out entire armies and planets without succumbing to mental breakdown, you can't just completely make the character weaker just for the sake of telling a new story when it clashes with her actions in the previous games. Metroid Other M isn't bad as most games out there but it's by far the worst Metroid game, in fact I wouldn't even call it a Metroid game as the Metroid games were more focused on exploration and discovery with events unfolding through dynamic game play, Other M does away with all these features in favor of a more Cinematic story, with a voice actress for Samus who sounds like a lobotomized Train Station announcer, AND suddenly has to take orders from "The Man" despite the fact that she's a Bounty Hunter and he technically has no authority over her. Also as far as the gameplay goes having to force players to use the D-pad to move in a 3D environment, and with shooting missiles being counter intuitive by the fact that you can't move while shooting them, not to mention oversimplifying the game so much that any sort of rewarding challenge is lost because you know in the back of your head the game did part of the work for you because the devs for some reason felt that you could play the entire game using THE FUCKING WIIMOTE with no alternative to use the Nunchuk or Classic Controller.

  11. PrimeVinyl That's still no reason to disable the Varia feature prior or even the Gravity, especially seeing as each feature half's the amount of damage her suit takes. And in regards to Ridley coming back to life. It still doesn't change the fact that PTSD doesn't work like that. Samus has defeated Ridley multiple times regardless on if it's the read deal or a clone. If Ridley was the trigger from her childhood than this should have happened the first time she met him, and wouldn't have been able to fight him then, cause she would have seen herself as the weaker combatant in that situation. The problem is because Samus has beaten Ridley numerous times, she would have become been more empowered and confident SINCE SHE KNOW'S she can defeat him.

  14. It wasn't really the difficulty that was the downer, it was the fact that the levels were nowhere near as creative or varied compared to the original trilogy. Not to mention the end game content was a whopping ONE LEVEL.

  18. cornchippers If you have a 3DS I'd recommend picking up Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, not only is it the best in the series but its also the most accessible to newcomers, and no prior knowledge of the previous games are required to enjoy it. If you don't have a 3DS I'd suggest trying to track down a New 3DS bundle with the game.
