  3. MrPedeporco Mario Galaxy 2 was met with extremely high praise, and strong quality and the game is really well polished. It currently has a 97 score on Metacritic. Which is higher than Skyrim which has a 94 or 96 depending on the version.

  4. Thrillseeker8922 You clearly have not played Super Mario Galaxy, 1 or 2. They are incredible games the completely reinvented 3D platforming. Hell they're the best 3D platformers to date for any franchise. Also may I remind you IGN put the first Super Mario Galaxy as their #1 for the 7th Gen

  7. Giorgi Gagua This is Super Mario Galaxy 2 were talking about here, it has a 97% Metacritic and Gameranking Score, AND is amoung the Top 10 of ALL TIME lists on both those sites.

  8. Do you have any idea how many amazing games there were this generation? Of course a lot of games are going to be left out, if you made a top 10 list you'd probably get flack about games that aren't there.

  12. Solid Snake As great as MGS4 is, it lacks the accessibility for newcomers to the series to get involved in because of its incredibly convoluted plot. Its fantastic for fans of the series no doubt about that. SMG doesn't have that accessibility problem though, both newcomers and veterans of Mario can jump in and enjoy it to its full potential without needing to play any of the previous games, same goes (rather surprisingly) for SMG2.

  14. Its very debatable about which of the 2 Mario Galaxy games are better, as both hold a 97 score on Metacritic, 1 was ground breaking but 2 was so well polished that it was impossible to criticize.

TIMxisxHERE Holy shit you are so incredibly petty, its bad enough you attacked this game because it was "kiddy" like some sort of high school bully, but now you're trying to slander professional companies to try and gain leverage in a losing argument. First of all Nintendo isn't the only company that has dedicated publications, Sony has the likes of "Playstation Universe" "Playstation Lifestyle" "LaPS4" & "Push Square" While Xbox has the likes of "Xbox Achievements" "Official Xbox Magazine" (US and UK) and yet you make it sound like Nintendo is the only one that has these making the score invalid. You could not be more wrong there. Secondly Gamerankings is THE MOST ACCURATE meta site for gaming out there as they have very strict guideline to vett unofficial scores. Thirdly your claim that "IGN and Gamespot are untrustworthy" only shows how ignorant you are, they're not the only review sites out as literally 97% of sites that reviewed Galaxy gave it between a perfect score, or a 95 or higher, and not a single score goes below 9. Neither even The Last of Us nor Skyrim can make that claim. Finally Super Mario Galaxy is among the top 10 Highest rated games on all meta sites, The 2 games you mentioned don't even hit the top 10 of all time. So really your argument that they don't belong in the Top 10 of the 7th gen merely boils down to pure pettiness.

You only gave a hypothetical theory of giving games high scores for no reason, not to mention IGN and Gamespot clearly were not the only sites to give the game very scores, as not a single review site gave Galaxy a score below a 9. You're not stating fact, your trying to project your opinion as fact with hypothetical claims when the data numbers clearly do not support your argument. I gave my sources from the Top 10 of all time from the likes of Metacritic and Gamerankings. Your using a petty excuse to ignore them simply because you don't like what they all say: Super Mario Galaxy more than deserves to be on this list.
