Regardless of your opinion on Trump, This is something that has to run its course. If McConnell allows the debate and vote and the Senate votes against impeachment, Trump has a better chance of winning 2020. If McConnell blocks the debate; he would be committing political suicide as well as kill Trump's chances in 2020 for the reasons stated above.
