What do you mean "Some game?" Celeste is a flawless masterpiece.

Greatness? Its writing is so cringeworthy.

I could say the exact same about this comment.

@PRATZP28 Says someone who clearly didn't play the other games on this list.
3
@tosin_is_hungry Yes I did, in my playthough all 3 main characters survived with Kara and Alice making it into Canada, but Hank died when he was held up by another Conner. The game is trying way too hard to be a racial allegory while at the same time failing to understand the very events its trying to draw parallels from. Not to mention that they're so blatantly obvious that its almost like everyone in this world flunked their history course at school. If it was based in an alternate history that would have been fine, but it's not. Chloe even directly mention Dr. Martin Luther King at one point.

@DChief94 Good joke

@harrybo1162 I have to and don't think it deserves to be anywhere near this list. I'd go through why but I'm just going to say: Go watch Mother's Basement's video on the game.
2
@tosin_is_hungry Well here's something that video doesn't mention: How the game portrays Canada, one of the most historically Liberal countries in the world that in this game for some reason: Has no problem executing Android's IN PUBLIC in the middle of busy government buildings, EVEN if one of them looks like a little girl. I mean that alone is thousands of layers of fucked up. But it doesn't stop there, should you try to make it to Canada by boat, we find out that CBSA has armed gunboats patrolling the Detroit River that shoots anyone on sight in this game. Canada doesn't treat the US like the US treats Mexico or at least how Cage thinks the US treats Mexico. The CBSA would NEVER use deadly force against anyone trying to cross the border illegally. They always use peaceful arrests. And lets not even get into the flawed logic of how the Androids think they'll be safer in Canada despite the fact that they would have no legal standing in that country.

That's Nintendo's fault not Watch Mojos, because they barely released any high quality titles in 2018. The only game good enough to be considered as one of the best of the year was Smash Bros Ultimate, which is on the list. Kirby Star Allies and Super Mario Party both hold a 72 and 76 on Metacritic, which doesn't even come close to touching the rest of the games on this list. The rest were ports that had come out years prior.
1
Excuse me but Detroit (and David Cage in extension) is not as good as he thinks it is. Go check out Mother's Basement's video on that game.
1
@juicesauce5672 Everything you just said is wrong. It has a 78 on Metacritic, well below everything else on this list.
1
Sales do not equal quality
1
I disagree with that. Celeste IMO is a masterpiece, where as Smash needs to fix its online mode, especially seeing as its a multiplayer focused game.
1
Everyone wants their personal favourite to be #1
1
Celeste is the greatest platformer ever made. Yes even better than Mario It is a masterpiece that you MUST play.
1
I like your list.
1
IMO Opinion Celeste is GOTY but I can accept it at #3 considering the top 2. Still the fact that it beat out Smash and Spider-man says alot about how good that game is. I was curious about that game when IGN gave the game a 10/10 and I'm glad I jumped into it: CELESTE IS A FLAWLESS MASTERPIECE
1
@SPM0717 This one is without flaws. The only reason it didn't get more perfect scores was because some sites feel like indie games don't deserve the same high scores as AAA titles for some reason.
1
@b2s358 Red Dead Online is fucking horrible, Its economy completely ruins the game. Just because it has an online mode doesn't mean its automatically a better title.
1
Smash needs to fix its online mode, especially seeing its a multiplayer focused game.

@DChief94 That's a completely false analysis, clearly you haven't played the game. Breath of the Wild has towers yes, but they don't act the same as Ubsioft's games at all. The towers only fill in the landscape and that's it! It doesn't fill in any icons at all. That's all up for the player to discover. In fact RDR2's map design is more similar to Ubisofts by the fact that it sets up so many map icons to tell the player which direction to go. Not to mention they act as vantage points for Fast Travel, which runs rings around Red Dead 2's system. And that's all before I mention that Towers have nothing to do with missions. Breath of the Wild's major selling point is that it lets players figure out what to do next, where as Red Dead 2 tells players what to do every step of the way. Maybe actually learn a thing or two about game design before spouting nonsense.
1
@DChief94 ""They’re still the same towers."" You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. ""The point I was making is that BotW has more recycled content throughout the map"" Completely false. Breath of the Wild's map is distinct with different biomes and landmarks that no two points are the same. ""Also you can pay to travel to places at Train stations, or earn it at the camp in RD2. How is that running circles around it?"" This is 100% proof that you clearly know nothing about Breath of the Wild, because then you'd know that BOTW offers way more fast travel destinations that can be accessed at anytime And they don't have to be paid for. You really need to stop embarrassing yourself.
1
@DChief94 Well lets start with the fact that Red Dead has no way to fast travel TO camp or John's house. Only from camp, which is a huge oversight. Not to mention you don't have to pay to use fast travel in BOTW. You only think Red Dead 2 has a better fast travel system because you're clearly unfamiliar with BOTW's system. "you do the exact same thing to trigger them?" Once again more proof that you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Every single tower has a unique hazard or puzzle the player needs to overcome before they can access it. For example one is located in a heavily guarded fort, another is partially submerged in a large bog, another is covered in thorns, another has no climbable surfaces at all. Also you really need to get this through your thick skull: Towers are not missions.
1
@DChief94 "I know there’s different layouts to get to the towers" No you clearly did not before I mentioned that otherwise you wouldn't have said: "So the towers are not the same now are they that look the same and you do the exact same thing" And at the start of the chat when you were talking about Red Dead's missions, you reason why they were better than BOTW was because of "The Towers". You didn't highlight anything about its missions. Again this points to the same result: You clearly have not played BOTW and are merely interpreting (badly) 3rd party information.
1
@DChief94 Also you need to look up what an "Edgelord" is, because it's clearly not what you think it is.
1
@DChief94 Wow that's some batshit insane logic there ... That's as much "recycling content" in the same way as "Riding on a horse with an Ally to a destination" or "Shoot everyone in the area until they're all dead or run off" is considered recycled content. Clearly you have no idea what constitutes "Recycled Content" So maybe you should stop commenting before you make a fool out of yourself even more. and again They're not missions, so there's no objective. They're not even mandatory you can beat the whole game without climbing any aside from the one in the tutorial area.
1
@DChief94 To quote Master Skywalker: Impressive. Every word in that comment was wrong. Its not a "goal" for the game as they're completely superficial. Not to mention they only make up a tiny portion of the adventure. There's only one thing you need to understand: You have no idea what you're talking about and should get off the internet. The only reason why I'm baiting you is because your stupidity amuses me.
1
@DChief94 You did, when talking about the missions of both games you were talking about how BOTW wasn't as good because "Ubisoft Towers" despite being completely unrelated. But of course you wouldn't know that since you clearly did not play Breath of the Wild. Just admit it.
1
@DChief94 Yes you did, in your 2nd comment in this thread.
1
As much as I love Smash Bros Ultimate, it really needs to fix its online mode. Plus Celeste is a masterpiece.
1
Because its writing is incredibly pretentious.
1
Kartik Punna oh I would be here all night to list the issues with that game. So I’m just going to tell you to go watch MothersBasement’s video on that game
1
Kartik Punna yet you don’t post a single one of those arguments here. Nice try you just perfectly encapsulated the same pretentiousness of this game. Here’s a few arguments that isn’t in that video: How can society not on the verge of anarcy with 35% unemployment, and all it has to show for it are half a dozen homeless people that wouldn’t be any different today? Why would the Canadian Border Agency execute androids in front of hundreds of people. Especially when one looks like a little girl. That’s some fucked up levels of totalitarianism there. If Kara and Alice instead cross the Detroit River instead, why does the Canadian Border Agency shoot st them blindly with an Army Gunboat. Canada wouldn’t do that PERIOD. They always make peaceful arrests for illegal border crossings. Why would the police just shoot Markus on site after HE called them? Why does everyone in this world seemingly forget about the segregation and slavery similarities? At one point Chloe even directly mentions Dr. Martin Luther King Jr so its clear this world follows our history.
1
Did you not listen to the start?
1
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
1
Oh boy are you in for a treat. Go play Celeste and find out why.
