  1. It is a similar situation in the USA too. Everywhere I go, whether it is the gym, grocery store, restaurant, bar, library, book store, national park etc. the ratio of old people to young people is 10:1. Same thing can be said about the workforce. I work as an electrician and everyone around me is in their 50s, with one guy being in his mid 30s. Too much old people and not enough young people.

  2. A nation requires 3 children per woman in order to maintain a stable and healthy demographic. That is basic biology. The USA (since the 1970s) has had fertility rates below 2.5 children per woman. Since the 2000s, the average fertility rate in the USA has been below 1.7 children per woman. So, America (like many other countries) is heading towards a sharp decline in the coming decades.
