  1. I am an American, having lived in the USA all my life, and what you say doesn’t surprise me. A friend of mine married a Ukrainian woman and told me that she respects many middle class Americans for not consuming heavy amounts of alcohol, while many Eastern Europeans drink alcoholic beverages like water.
