  1. Britain decline started in the 19th century. The British started to spend more money on fighting foreign wars than economic development. By the mid 19th century, Britain industrial and commercial sectors became stagnant. By the 1900s, British trade, commerce, industry and economic development had been cut in half. All the while, Germany and the USA were rising in trade, commerce, industry etc. A major reason for Britain waging war on Germany is because of German economic competition eating away British trade and British commerce. Irony is, British destroyed itself trying to get rid of Germany as a major economic player on the world stage. Lol
