  1. The Dieppe Raid really showed how excellent of a military Hitler had and how the Canadian government basically threw away its own young men. If it had not been for the betrayal and treason of Hitler generals and other high ranking military staff, the D-Day Invasion in June 1944 would have been more bloody and costly than the Dieppe Raid. I’ve read that most of the German commanders defending Normandy, France in June 1944 were active conspirators of Hitler. Only a handful were loyal to Hitler, like Infantry Commander Dietrich. That can explain why the 352nd Infantry Division inflicted heavy losses on U.S forces at Omaha beach, for example.
