  1. America oldest transit systems were all built up incrementally with local money. But after WW2, it has all been debt based speculation with continuous decline in quality and ridership. Only recently do we see a rejuvenation of city transit.

  2. The destruction of reliable, efficient and affordable streetcar transit across America is thanks to public opinion being swayed in favour of private cars and freeways over railway transit. Americans voted with their money to opt for gasoline and cars instead of electric railways for transit. So, this is our fault and not the fault of GM or government.
