  405. The Hamas terrorist attacks on Gaza have exposed so much lack of moral clarity from certain individuals. There is no equivalency between Israel's collateral damage in Gaza and Hamas's targeted atrocities in Israel. Those who attempt to create an equivalency are creating an equivalency between themselves and the terrorists. Just imagine the family of, say, a man, who flung himself from a top floor of one of the Twin Towers to avoid the flames, crying out for humanitarian aid for the terrorists, their families and leaders, with the US stopping all efforts against the terrorists to provide humanitarian aid and supplies to, say, the large bin Laden family and families of the hijacking terrorist bombers! Preposterous! Of course, collateral damage is tragic, but Hamas is culpable for not providing shelters, humanitarian escape routes, essential services and emergency supplies for its people. There is no way Hamas did not know that Israel would respond to the atrocities against its civilians, with lethal vengeance. Let alone that a modus operandi of these terrorists is to exaggerate fatalities to gain international sympathy, they set themselves up in civilian buildings, using civilians as human shields (just as the Ukrainian forces have done) tossing the civilians to the bombs. Now Hamas will pocket humanitarian funds and emergency supplies. As in WW2, first comes defeat of the tyrants and terrorists; next comes humanitarian aid for the civilians who supported the tyrants and terrorists.

  536. Whatever the amount, the US GAVE it to Zelensky with circular money paths back to US accounts. It was not handed out in loans (that would never have been repaid anyway). Biden handed it over willingly on behalf of the US, many Republican neocons on board. The US leaders invited the green goblin into the Congress for applause, praise and idolization; as officials and millions of Americans tagged their names with the Ukrainian flag; fired Russians from their jobs and vilified them. Trump, unfortunately, inherited this mess; however, his proposed one-sided deal angles away from his calls for fair dealing with foreign countries. His refusal to admit the US's role in starting this war and funding the death and destruction, plays into US unipolarism, a non-starter in today's world. Any Western CEO would be remiss in his fiduciary duty, if he agreed to develop mineral deposits in Ukraine for the profits to be put into a US government fund. Peace through Strength in this case should not be misguided strength, but the courage to walk away, cognizant of the US's role in the death and destruction of Ukraine; and negotiate on the basis of Putin's terms that are not disadvantageous to the US. The families of over 500,000 unwilling Ukrainian conscripts - sent to the front at SBU gunpoint - are more deserving of the profits from Ukrainian mineral deposits than Americans who did not demonstrate against the war, but then voted to END it; not get mired down in attempting to recoup sunk costs.

  672. OMG, Kissinger doesn't have the first clue: Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea have voted overwhelmingly to join Russia. There is no need for another referendum. Appears this old man has no idea about one of the main reasons for Russia's SMO: to end the Ukrainian genocide against Donetsk and Luhansk, after the US/West refused diplomacy to end that genocide and US/NATO aggression. Why on earth should Russia concede to Ukraine entering NATO, especially after the history, since the NATO Bucharest summit in 2008. Hints about why the plan is ridiculous: US-initiated Maidan Coup. Ukrainian genocide against Donbass Russians, while the US shadow government was interfering in Ukraine. US/NATO funding, weaponizing of Ukraine. US/NATO forces actively engaged in hostilities against Russia, usking Ukraine as a proxy battlefield. US/West support of nazi forces in Ukraine. US/UK/EU admitted goal to tear Russia apart. Angela Merkel's admitting that Germany and France had no intention of honoring the Minsk Agreement, but rather signed as guarantors to create more time to arm Ukraine. Pushing NATO into Ukraine, is brushing Russia's concerns under the carpet. Kherson and Zaparosia have voted overwhelmingly to join Russia, a UN right of self-determination. Obviously Kissinger has not been following this war carefully. Apparently he has no idea why they do not want to be part of Ukraine. Hint: Official Ukrainian apartheid policies against Russian-Ukrainians; harassment and sporadic attacks of Azov against civilians in Mariupol BEFORE current conflict; consistent and methodical Ukrainian attacks against civilians during the current hostilities.

  698. Not the first time a country has seized art that does not belong to it. It's called theft. It is evil. Criminal behavior. Why has Finland stolen this art? For years Putin called for diplomatic negotiations to stop the shelling of Donbass Russians by Ukraine's Azov Militia and Army. The calls fell on deaf ears. Did Finland enter into any diplomatic talks in this regard? Did it offer to help? To date, over 14,000 Russian men, women and children have been killed by the shelling. Peace was negotiated with the Minsk Agreement. Ukraine a main signatory to the agreement. It guaranteed the end of the shelling and independent status for Donetsk and Luhansk in Donbass. Corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs, including Zelensky, and US interlopers, refused to honor the agreement. The shelling still continues. As Biden's threats escalated, so did Putin's and Lavrov's calls for diplomacy. Biden refused any good-faith negotiations. So Putin recognized Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states, free to choose their own alliances. They asked for Russian help. Russia entered Ukraine to encircle the Azov Militia & Army to stop the shelling once and for all. What would Finland have done if, say, Russia was shelling and killing thousands of Finns in an enclave of Finns in Russia at the Finnish/Russian border? Would it have asked for help diplomatically? If the world refused to help, would it have left those Finns to their own devices to perish? Or would it have taken military action to stop the shelling? Russia took action to help and is being severely punished for that, as the West, including Finland, calls for arms for the Azov Militia and Ukrainian Military to continue the death and destruction. EVIL MADNESS.

  932. Conscription always scares the hell out of me. If I were a young man at risk of being conscripted and sent to the front, I would be scared, battle ready or not, and mull over the idea of escaping. Mitigating this news slightly, is the knowledge that Putin has said the conscripts will only be among former military and reserves. The reality of conscription plays loud, clear and chillingly every time we watch films of WW2 allied conscripts on landing craft, heading for the European beaches, knowing as we do, that so many of those innocent men, terror running through their veins, were slaughtered before they even reached the beaches and many more right on the beaches. The reality of conscription rings true every time we see film of US conscripts in Vietnam lying low in partially protected fox holes, waiting in terror for the next explosion. Conscription is no less terrifying, as we watch film of WW2 German conscripts freezing and wounded on the snow covered Eastern steppes, knowing as we do, that they did not make it out of that freezing hell. Meanwhile, a few released, sheltered top Azov guys in Turkey are not going to wipe away the imagery of 53+ Azov dead and 75+ Azov wounded in the Zelensky-ordered hit on the Donetsk POW camp where they were housed. The Azov in Turkey will not waste time sipping Turkish coffees in outdoor cafés. They will barter for computer access and phones. May they reap their vengeance on the Vogue model and high-heeled dancing CinC, whom they detest, before any Russian conscripts and thousands more Ukrainians are killed, to bring a quick end to this vile Biden war.

1214. Before I start, confirmation out today on X of the gross distortion of death statistics from Gaza. One of the main reasons for Russia's SMO is to end the Ukrainian genocide against Donbass Russians. The war for Russia is also existential, the West having been crystal clear about its intention to tear Russia apart. The number of deaths of Ukrainians is monumental. The reason for Israel's war in Gaza is retaliation for Hamas's terrorism, heinous atrocities and genocide against Israeli civilians. The war for Israel is also existential, Hamas Gazans having been crystal clear about their intention to decimate Israel "from the river to the sea." The number of deaths of Gazans has been extremely exaggerated and not close to Ukrainians KIA, but significant, as Hamas has blended its terrorist operations with its civilian activities. Genocide is not tolerated in civilized societies - not under any circumstances - even if it take war and human collateral damage to end it. WW2's European Theatre is a great example of that. Some people support Russia (as I do), despite the monumental death toll, but do not support Israel, despite the large death toll, albeit much smaller than Ukraine's. (I support Israel.) One cannot selectively pick and choose which cases of genocide to support and which cases of genocide not to support. Genocide is always wrong and must be rooted out, even if that takes war and human collateral damage, as it has done in Gaza, because Hamas has used its own citizens as human shields and blended its terrorist actions with its civilians. If you don't like the human collateral damage in Gaza - and nobody does - then razor down on the cause: Hamas invasion of Israel and genocide against Israeli citizens. Selectively calling out a country as uncivilized, because it retaliates against genocide, while sympathising with the country that committed the genocide, is treading on very dangerous and ignoble ground.

Or are we talking about projection involving working for an organization currently involved in evil policies? Both are far from a black and white issues. Albert Einstein once remarked on all the evil in the world (much of the evil in the West today, alarmingly similar to the evil of his time), but he warned that more evil are those who do nothing about it. (A motivator for my online political involvement.) There is something to be said for walking away from an organization that is involved in evil, especially at the higher levels. I get it, that it takes courage. I get it, that many at the top and bottom have been lied to and misled about the West's manufactured war against Russia. I get it, that walking away means walking away from a salary. I get it, that the majority are just cogs in the wheel. Still today there is debate about the acquiescence and silence of Germans in 1930s and 1940's Germany, particularly against Germans who worked in the Hitler government. Hitler's secretary spent five months in prison after WW2. The Nuremberg Trials created precedents for no mercy for higher ups following orders. Imagine if Germans and not been so acquiescent and silent towards their government's activities, the history of Europe might have been quite different - no holocaust. But this is a focus on pay hikes. If all the EU members got hefty pay hikes at this time, I think that is definitely an issue deserving of assertive debate. Should I be more empathetic towards EU Commission workers? Yes for some; no for others. Having said that, of course, in high inflationary times, any workers will gladly accept pay increases without delving into macro-economic consequences. I so admire your ethics to correct mistakes. On this one, don't be so hard on yourself. It's a complex issue, particularly as it goes against the EU's own executive advice to other organizations about pay hikes during inflationary times, and adds to the inflationary upward spiral. Not to forget that a key component of failing governments is the size of their bureaucracies and generally too-high pay for non-revenue generating work. These are valid issues of general debate, versus hurting individual feelings of EU government workers.

1482. Firstly, let's get confirmation on the collateral damage in Gaza. Hamas has failed to deliver basic services, essential services, and acceptable living conditions for Gaza, so I highly doubt its ability to deliver an accurate fatality count, let alone that for as long as I can remember, it has always been the modus operandi for ME terrorists to exaggerate deaths - even stage destruction and losses - to elicit Western support. Right now, the civilized world should be helping Israel to get rid of Hamas, and yes, that will mean collateral damage. Instead, Hamas is once again bamboozling the West to feel sympathy for it through the people of Gaza who are their tools. The people of Gaza have never objected to Hamas. They have supported them. That has consequences. A recording of a terrorist's phone call to his parents in Gaza has been publicized - likely a captured phone. It illustrates the support of Gazans for Hamas. He called his parents, screeching that he had killed twelve Jews, telling them that he had their blood on his hand, asking his parents' if they were proud of him. Einstein once remarked on all the evil in the world but warned more evil are those who support the evil or do nothing to stop it. It would be difficult, even today, to get decent people to suggest the German people should have been given humanitarian aid, emergency services, and humanitarian escape routes, as Hitler and his goons decimated European Jews in death camps, gas chambers and slave factories. Of course not. Humanitarian aid for the German people came after Hitler and his regime had been wiped out. Humanitarian aid for Gazans should come after Hamas has been wiped out, and it is becoming evident that the conventional wisdom of a two-state solution is impossible. Gaza has been independent since 2005, equally as dangerous and arguably more dangerous than the West Bank with Israeli military occupation So complex, but rewarding terrorism is a fool's game. Huge benefit to surrounding countries to take the Palestinians? Even they want nothing to do with their terrorism

1578. John Ratcliffe as CIA director. Perfect choice. Hope he takes Kash Patel, one of the best, with him. Ratcliffe was head of DNI in Trump's first term, Ambassador to Germany previously. Pete Hegseth as SofD, perfect - analyst on Fox News just one of his jobs. He has advocated for the troops and military for years - starting long before FOX. He cares deeply about the troops. Mike Huckabee as ambassador for Israel. Good choice, ethical, Christian and always advocating for factual news. Loyal to Trump. His daughter is doing a great job as Governor of Arkansas. Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakota, for SofDHS is sharp, loyal, steadfast, determined, no nonsense, and loyal to Trump - good for deporting illegal migrants. Mike Walz as National Security Adviser - don't know enough about him. Vivek and Musk as co-leaders for DOCE. Perfect. Both loyal. Musk w/ an excellent track record for razoring down and cutting for efficiency. Vivek, astute, articulate and clear. Rubio as SoS? Iffy. Was once a Ukraine war monger. Changed his mind. Wants the war to end but to end spending for a stalemate, not to end the lethal war against Russia, using Ukraine and its men as proxies, destroying the country in the process. I have a hunch that neither he nor Trump are fully knowledgeable about the Ukraine War and may insist on returning territory to Ukraine, rightly a non-starter. Those who call for territory to be returned support Ukrainian genocide, ethnic cleansing, discrimination, nazism and US/NATO aggression toward Russian-Ukrainians.
