  1. I am afraid that is the bane of both the U.S. and Canada. Ignorant voters = ignorant electorates = broken democracy.

  2. Time for qualifications for candidates. Degrees that include economics, finance, business, etc. and passing a tough test to be qualified as a candidate. The level of ignorance is so great that qualification tests to vote are sounding like a good idea. That, of course, would be contra to our ideas about democracy, so the better idea is to educate and promote voters to demand an overhaul of the education system.
