@theonlineanimal6009 Fine to agree to disagree, but I urge you to spend time reading/learning about physics and cosmology. Probably the most profound area of study that exists. You'll find you won't be so into either gods or visiting aliens. Not sure what you think about gods. No need to respond. Do have a wonderful day.

So, what do you think the lies are. That these objects are still unidentified? Or were you hoping that the government would tell us they are from outer space. If they are from space, they have been hurled there from earth. The nearest exoplanet to earth, which is thought not have a liveable environment, is 4.24 light years away. That equals 25.44 trillion miles. At the speed of light, 860,000 miles per second, it would take 4.42 years to reach earth. The aliens and their ship would be fried.

@Devin insky The laws of physics and the speed of the light are universal -- throughout the cosmos. I gave an example of the problems with distance if aliens were to come from the nearest exoplanet to earth. This particular exoplanet is outside the solar system in a different galaxy. Your comment is an example of why it is imperative that the sciences once again become mandatory for high-school graduation.

@theonlineanimal6009 My guess is that aliens, if there are any, have evolved differently from humans and other life forms on earth; however, the atoms of which they are made will be the same. The periodic table is universal, as are the laws of physics and speed of light.

@theonlineanimal6009 Indeed they could, but not at the speed of light.

@theonlineanimal6009 Open oup some physics texts!

@theonlineanimal6009 You are right, but the speed of light is concrete, proven and fixed. The distances among galaxies and stars is pretty accurate. Until a planet is discovered with advanced life on it that is close enough to reach earth at speeds that won't shred an alien, within the lifespan of the alien, the notion of aliens reaching earth is incredibly farfetched. The nearest exoplanet discovered is 25.44 TRILLION miles away, and it is thought it does not have the environment to sustain life. Pure logic comes into it too. Do you think that, if aliens were to reach earth after travelling trillions of miles, they would just buzz earth and then move on?

@theonlineanimal6009 I think intelligent life could most certainly develop on other planets, but travelling the distances between planets is a different story.

@Devin insky As I said the basic of physics and the speed of light is universal across the cosmos, no matter how large it is.

@Devin insky @Devin insky I actually really enjoy debating, especially when my debating opponent really knows his/her stuff. Of course, language is involved in written debates on science, and illiteracy is a warning sign about the sophistication of a debating opponent. "You're" is short for "you are." "Your" is a possessive pronoun and does not make sense the way you have used it. Lastly, it is not a good idea to make assumptions about people whom you do not know. Such assumptions are pretty well always wrong. I am winning the debate here, because I spend a lot of time reading about the universe and the physics of the universe -- believe it or not, bedtime reading! I doesn't appear as if you could make the same claim. So what do you do? You resort to attacking me personally.

Time for reporters and their guest to have degrees in physics, or at least read about basic physics, cosmological distances and the speed of light, so that they can understand the absurdity of contemplating that these UFOs are alien-manned from outer space.
