Justice has gone off the rails when defence is allowed to make up theories and outright lies in defence of their client. An accused should have the right to an ethical defence, Falsely blaming someone else or making up false stories is not ethical. The best defence should be factual evidence if the client is innocent, or the best mitigating evidence to lessen the punishment, if the client is guilty.
