Even British colonization is not something to be scorned. Mistakes, yes! But on balance, the countries that were colonized profited from the legal processes, standards, education, infrastructure, technology that the British imported to those countries. The British colony that I am familiar with has many extremely grave problems since its nearly sixty independence. The African workers on the white farms in that colony received, in addition to wages, free housing, water, meat, flour/maze, milk, land for vegetables, healthcare, hospitalization when necessary, and primary schooling. Many of their descendents now live in squalid slums that did not exist during colonization. Yet, for a few decades now, in the few remaining books stores in the West, one sees books on the evils of British colonials, written by academics who never stepped foot in a British colony.
