Why could the Dutch take their country to court and indeed get the court to rule in their favor to ban weapons to Israel over breaches of international laws but the American could not do it in the US despite it being the more popular opinion with a larger amount of supporters? The Dutch are not in any way or shape "friendly" to Arabs and they do not even have a large Dutch-Arab minority. The only difference is they actually care about international laws. Plain and simple. It's this absense of accountability and tools to hold the government accountable for their "military adventures overseas" that makes a mockery of international laws/ political double standards and a cover for a blatant disregard for human lives.

There is no real "left" or "progessives" in Israel. What you think is "left" like being secular, athiest,or LGBTQ in Israel doesn't translate into political stance of what "progressive/leftists"in the US usually means. Those who so much as express sympathies with Palestinians are marginalized and with too little power to change anything.
