Somebody needs to help them. It's just so wrong to abandon them.

The Taliban will take any aid they get for themselves. The people will be left to suffer.

Now that energy costs are so high we have an opportunity to find out if green alternatives can work. And also how people cope with using a lot energy.

Ridiculous. This is the 21st century. Well too bad for them. What a waste of human resources. Societies and nations are more productive where women participate equally. It's half the population for goodness sakes.

I feel such a mix of emotions - uplifted and yet so sad. I hope all my heart she will be united with both of her parents and be spared the pain of war.

Score is 1 to 1. Freedom and democracy lost in Georgia but won in Moldova. Hopefully, the US will elect Harris despite Putin's covert influence campaigns.

@hmmmmm2634 the decision belongs to the women. Nobody tells me what to wear and I won't tell anyone else what to wear.

I wouldn't be so sure the counter offensive will end in the fall. Ukraine is full of surprises.
9
That was really interesting. I always look forward to what BBC puts out

Haily or Christi could win a general election. None of the others, including Trump, could win a general election.
7
Acceptable to support dictatorships?
7
We have stronger social and economic ties with Taiwan. It has also been a free and democratic nation longer than Ukraine. It has played a larger role in Asia Pacific geopolitics. Ukraine is the new kid on the block by comparison.
6
@Bobunaganinamoto yes, middle eastern countries should receive refugees from the middle east just as European countries take the in Europeans. I don't see the problem here.
6
@jasonbromhead5257 my mother escaped the Soviet Union when Stalin was in power with the help of the Canadian embassy (yeah, I'm that old) and she was born in America. There is always a way
6
Do the people in the Finland that do not want to be in NATO believe they could fight off Russia alone?
6
Classic Russian strategy. Nothing new here.
5
Tragic. This won't end well.
4
This will end when the hostages are released.
4
It's obviously Russia, they gain strategically and tactically. Ukraine will suffer from this.
4
My son grew up doing almost all of his reading on the internet. I doubt he ever checked a book out of the library. He fairly well informed. I did my best to teach him critical thinking and avoid confirmation bias.
4
Great reporting 👏
4
If Ukraine gives up it's military they will cease to exist. Putin will erase every trace of them.
3
People can say whatever they want. It's called freedom of speech. If I think your treatment of women is medieval I will say it.
3
Two possible outcomes. Hostages returned, situation goes back to normal. Hostages not returned or killed, apocalyptic.
3
Putin has made gains in the information war. His bot army is enormous. Infiltration, covert influence campaigns, massive propaganda.
3
Dictatorships versus Democracies. Nuff said.
3
Paid Putin trolls are busy I see. They will lose their jobs after Ukraine starts hitting Russian airfields and launch pads in Russia. Cowards attacking civilians from safety in Russia.
3
Well, that was different 😳 . Meta news. I like it 👌
3
If nothing else it should make voters less inclined to vote for someone who tried to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power. The hearings are just providing evidence that this actually happened.
3
This is how China operates. Resistance is futile. They will be assimilated. Slowly but surely China will absorb it's neighbors and silence any opposition.
3
@atnfn that makes sense as long as Russian leadership is rational but Putin has a lot in common with Stalin. I can't make any judgements about the conversation among yourselves but I would be uneasy living in Finland without NATO membership which pretty much guarantees you won't be attacked.
3
Putin's trolls are all over this one. She is too good for them to leave her alone. They have to attack her.
2
Sadly the damage has been done. Not sure how johnny dep comes back from this.
2
Unbelievable, does he really believe anyone buys this? That insanely obsessed little man just won't quit. Now is the time to go all in and give Ukraine what it needs to push him out. It's time to stop holding back and finish this once and for all.
2
Another child loses his mother. Stupid senseless war. God damn Putin and his minions to hell.
2
Can't believe how many suckers fell for that ponzi scheme. Just a reminder there's no such thing as a "sure thing". If it's too good to be true it probably isn't. Desperate Bitcoin owners be trolling comments to prop up Bitcoin. Sorry, too late for that.
2
😁 go Ukraine! Push Putin's army all the way out!
2
It's not U-235, it's mostly U-238 which is what's left when the fissile material is extracted. Ironically one application is radiation shielding.
2
Putin is the epitomy of evil
2
America has been standing with Europe for over a century. But people have become so self-absorbed that they just aren't interested in anything that doesn't affect them directly.
2
I'm sure there are aliens, but they are so far away that it's completely irrelevant. No communication will ever take place.
2
@jordy8066 🤣
2
@hmmmmm2634 so the solution is to keep them in a burka? And really it's not a male female thing, it's a freedom thing. Just don't like it when people try to control other people.
2
@warmachine676 I agree with you. They should be allowed to wear what they want and no one should interfere with them.
2
Hopefully the free world knows what you said is true. Serbia cannot be trusted even though the government pretends they should be allowed into the EU
2
Say what you want paid Putin trolls, the Ukrainian leadership is smarter than you think. Just wait and see, Ukraine will come out ahead before this is over 😏
2
Exactly. The religious right cares more about their agenda than the survival of the nation.
2
Putin has no credibility. I doubt it was Ukraine.
2
Putin just wants to reduce Ukraine to a pile of ruble. Conquer by annihilation. Putin will only respond to a show of force.
2
Putin will lose the war in Ukraine, but people fear him so much that I think he will stay in power.
