I have to be honest with you. The only way Ukraine gets Crimea is if they ignore the Donbas region for now and applies every military resource they have to take Crimea quickly. The window of opportunity is closing.
2
Ukraine didn't do it. The free world takes a dim view of political assassination so it would not be in Ukraine's interest to do it.
2
When Russia can't use military power, it uses covert influence campaigns and destabilization. A dark evil force spreading like a cancer.
2
I always knew my ancestors came from Slavic regions, but only recently have I learned much about the culture as it is today. Thank you, Anna, for sharing ๐
2
If nothing else, it is confirmation that the free world views the acts of Putin to be intolerable and unacceptable. It adds to the justification for giving Ukraine what it needs to fight against a criminal regime.
2
What do you think about Americans and other foreigners coming to Ukraine? Is it problematic or is it good to get dollars from visitors? So many people want to come and help but are they getting in the way or really helping? What about foreign investment in Ukraine?
2
Definitely one of your best. For a moment I could almost imagine seeing the world through Ukrainian eyes. It reminds me of how Americans viewed Eisenhower.
2
I remember the cold war and was continuously worried about some accident leading to mutually assured destruction. After it ended I was so relieved and felt like maybe it's over for good. And now so many years later this crazy obsessed madman has brought it all back again. Putin is a 21st century reincarnation of Stalin and Hitler.
2
The silver lining is that the economic pain Trump has caused means that the democrats will have an opportunity to take back control of Congress
2
The Telegram issue is complicated. I would like more informative about it. On one hand it allows dissidents to communicate securely, but it also allows criminals to communicate securely.
2
I like your reaction to the leaks ๐ and I share your frustration at the slow transfer of weapons. Ukraine will win but with such losses it makes me sad. The cost of freedom is high but worth the price. Slava Ukraini, Heroyim Slava!
2
What do you and the people you know want from the negotiations? Complete Russian withdrawal to pre-war boundaries or give up some of the Donbas region? We know the West won't agree to direct confrontation with Russia but would you accept "armed neutrality" where you just get weapons from the West and have to defend yourself alone? I haven't been able to get a sense of how Ukrainians feel about this.
2
Zelensky is the right person to lead Ukraine until the war is over. He may not even want to stay in government when its over. Imagine the stress of the job, I'm impressed he has the energy to work so hard
2
What did NK think would happen sending their troops into the meat grinder? Foolish move. That's what happens to anyone who believes Putin's lies.
2
I've read articles and commentary that this war is a defining moment in modern Ukrainian history. United in a common cause, working together cooperatively as one people, one community, one family. Clearly distinct and separate from Russia in shared values and worldview. If they had much in common with Russia before they definitely don't anymore. I have tremendous respect and admiration for Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!
2
I think he represents the will of the people which is most important. It would be interesting to hear about political discourse in Ukraine right now. Obviously the war is pushing other issues aside but there are probably some contentious issues in the background we don't see.
2
Seeing a lot of Trump/Putin bots all over YT lately. Putin can't win without Trump.
2
Their common enemy was the UK. If I remember correctly, that was the principle motivation. I don't think form of government played a big role.
2
The other consequence of this victory is that the Ukrainian army has proved beyond a doubt that they can use advanced weaponry from the west effectively. Perhaps more will be delivered now. ๐ค
2
Putin's obsession with Ukraine borders on insanity.
2
I worry that Putin will drop a low-yield tactical nuke in Ukraine the West won't know what to do about it. What options do they have? I just can't conceive of an appropriate response. Hopefully the West has a plan for this that stops Putin without taking the whole world down.
2
In my worldview there is nothing of greater value than freedom and the right to vote. I will be forever grateful to Ukrainians for fighting for those values.

Must be some British viewers out that would know

ย @AnnafromUkraineย ๐ that's me being an American stereotype. We love novelty and celebrity. Her hairstyle caught attention and she was portrayed in American media as a "woman of the people" in a country where everyone lived in little cottages in small villages. It was very superficial coverage but for some people that was the first time they heard about a country called Ukraine. And probably still couldn't find it on a map!

One of the Ukrainian vloggers I follow tried to enlist twice and they told him they don't need him yet. He has a lot of Western subscribers and does a great job sharing the Ukrainian perspective so I think he is actually doing something important for Ukraine (just like you are doing). I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.
1
This is my biggest concern also. Who knows how Putin will react as his army is pushed out of Ukraine. Hopefully there are people in power to restrain him.

Benign comment

The failure of the US to continue support as promised is causing the US to lose credibility and making deterrence more difficult
1
Thats a fairly accurate assessment of Putin's regime and their tactics. Well done ๐
1
You covered that topic very well. I share your point of view.
1
When I think about it, the war in Ukraine is the only war in my lifetime (I was alive during the Vietnam war) that is unambiguously a just war. It's frustrating the free world doesn't see that
1
Not enough people know about the Holodomor. It might be a good idea to make a video about that. Also about Russia's history of moving natives to remote areas of Russia and replacing them with Russians. People need to know these things.
1
I think Ukraine chose a path to freedom and democracy and affinity with Europe as part of developing a new sense of sovereign identity. I think the West feels protective of this new member of the free world but frustrated because Ukraine lies outside of NATO. I hope we stay focused and stand by Ukraine until they get their country back.
1
Russians have beaten into submission for decades. I don't think they care who rules them.
1
The free world must understand the war in Ukraine is our war too. Freedom is everything.
1
It's pretty clear the Russian people are going to support Putin. They are completely brainwashed. The opposition has left the country or been imprisoned, or killed. Whatever hope we had that the Russian people would push back against Putin is gone.
1
I've believed taking back Crimea should be a priority from the very beginning. It had far more strategic value than the Donbas region. IMHO of course ๐
1
Was surprised to hear that not enough pilots speak English. I was planning to be a volunteer driver in Ukraine, but maybe teaching English would be more effective.

Excellent presentation ๐ ๐ ๐

Putin doesn't like a free and prosperous democracy so close. Russians might start wondering why they can't have what you have. I stand by Ukraine. Thank you for sharing, I look forward to your next post.
1
Trump will abandon Ukraine. Please don't vote for him
