For goodness sakes! No one wants to attack Russia! Not for the last 80 years. Until the war on Ukraine most of the people I know didn't even think about Russia and couldn't find Ukraine on a map. What possible reason would anyone have to start a war with Russia? Isn't it obvious that the only reason nations join NATO is because they fear that Russia will attack? All of this paranoia is Putin's propaganda.

@zlatka_ninova I understand but it's really frustrating. Most of the people I know had such high hopes for creating new bonds of friendship with the Russians after the Soviet Union dissolved. It was supposed to be a new age of peace and prosperity and now it's all falling apart. It makes me sad.

@Пальцерезка a lot of us are trying even now. Don't you think it's better to talk and work through this instead of resentment and distrust? I'm talking about person to person, not governments. Obviously there is a lot we don't understand about each other but peace is the outcome we want. Just to live our lives without fear. Does that seem reasonable to you?

Not explicitly but yeah, it's a defensive alliance and the only powerful country in the region that starts wars in Europe is Russia.
