You are one brave guy. It's people like you that give me hope that Russia has a chance of joining the free world some day. Great respect and admiration for you. But please be careful.

Excellent idea. Would love to see something like that.

True that young urban Russians are a lot like us but out in the countryside there are a whole lot of Russians (mostly living in poverty) that totally support Putin and need the money the army pays them.

@deadpavuk7657 sorry, the translator isn't working. My mother (fluent in Russian) tried to teach me Russian but I don't remember any of it.

@lemondruid2783 there are two major advantages to a "free world". The first is economic. When nations have stable relations with each other commerce is more effective. There are always challenges like corruption but a determined government can fight against that. Resources like oil which Russia has in abundance can be exchanged for material and products it needs. Technology transfers make everyone more productive. That part is obvious. Freedom and.democracy are less obvious. With freedom comes innovation, exchange of knowledge and ideas, the ability to express yourself and choose your own destiny. Ideal democracy (and of course it takes work to maintain) insures that the will of the people is reflected in government policies and actions. It would be a huge benefit for Russia and the whole world if Russia was a part of this ideal free world. You have an educated population, strength in science and technology, abundant resources, and a rich culture. If Russia could change it's trajectory the entire world would celebrate. The internet connects us in ways that were never possible before and I can only hope that dialogue like this will make a difference.

I hope you're right. I worry about them all the time.

@mindblowing3202 they don't join the army for free. Soldiers get paid.

@mindblowing3202 I'm not saying they all just fight for the money, but do you deny that many of them do?

@ksmith2852 the man has 300,000 subscribers and was on the news. If he gets more popular he is going to attract attention, and not the good kind 😒

@greeshka4751 just a reminder we don't all think like that. Everyone has a different opinion just you do.

You think they feel so strongly they would risk mutually assured destruction? Accept almost certain death? Putin and his friends might survive in a bunker but the people would be completely exposed.

@mindblowing3202 you didn't answer my question: do you deny that many poor Russians join the army for the money? Don't try to avoid the question.
