  1. Almost every nation has some history of bad behavior or bad actors. Its best to acknowledge what happened openly and learn from the past. Bandera was instrumental in promoting Ukrainian identity but also committed what we would call war crimes by today's standards. The US president Andrew Jackson did some good work but he also wiped out a huge number of native Americans. No country is perfect.

  2. Exactly. I love Ukraine and support them completely, but eventually, they will have to reconcile with that problematic past.
