@brp5497 When law enforcement officers are trained to recognize counterfeit money, they do not study all the different ways counterfeiters replicate bills. Instead, they learn what the genuine article looks like, so thoroughly, so that when they do encounter the fake ones, they know instinctively that "something is wrong with this..."
And so it is likewise with spiritual truth. 🙂

That's what a young black woman pastor told my husband and me, many years ago, in so many words (but without the "d" expletive you used). It took us a long time to figure out why she was so triggered. I guess b/c their church was in an economically-depressed neighborhood (not our usual congregation--we were just guests there while visiting out-of-state relatives)—she felt we didn't "belong" and was subtly letting us know it. 😕
It's sad that she blamed others for the run-down state of her own community, though. Perhaps if the churches there would quit making excuses for their local residents (including some church members) drug-dealing, destroying property, stealing, mugging, gang activity, dropping out of school, worshiping gangsta rap "artists," fornicating, disrespecting their elders, burning and looting local businesses, murdering, etc., they would be happier, self-respecting, more self-sustaining and a credit to their communities.
