@voskresenie- Either way, it boils down to censorship by the woke. Nothing new these days. The platform we're currently on has certainly exercised its share, especially as it relates to politics (i.e., gets closer to Election Day).

@KingstonHawke Don't be ridiculous. No kid is going to go leafing through an old, huge tome hundreds of pages long (with few or no illustrations) to randomly find an odd verse here or there that could even remotely be considered titilating. Besides, unlike this book that is being discussed, what the Bible records (as the history of mankind) is not at all the same as what it teaches (advocates). Your objection reminds me of that joke about the guy who, trying to receive some wisdom from God opened the Bible and blindly pointed at random verses, only to read, "Judas went and hanged himself..." (Matt. 27:5); "Go, and do thou likewise" (Luke 10:37); and, finally: "(What) thou doest, do quickly" (John 13:27).

@gatoryak7332 "...irate parent... cherry pick ... out of context ... wrong to continue whining..." Your outrage is manufactured. You're not fooling anyone. That was purely an attempt by the school board to shut the parent up and try to keep other parents (and the conservative media) from knowing/reporting what was going on.

@josedeliz1404 the way I understood it was that the board was voting that the book was appropriate for kids and that if the parent had concerns, his only recourse was to express them privately to a committee which would (most likely) just ignore them and keep the book's contents under wraps from other parents and the media.
