  1. Many people paid $5 dollars to be put on the Dawe's Roll although they had no Native American ancestry from 1898 to 1907. The Dawe's Roll made them eligible to be members of the Five Tribes. They are known as $5 Dollar Indians from the Dawe's Roll tribe and I have met many of their descendants in my life.
