  1. Expensive shoes are worth it, they protect the Anatomical structure of the foot and rest of the body. The shoe will not have much effect on raw skill but it will support and cushion better than shoes from 30 years ago. I understand many Americans not knowing how their body works. You will perform better and longer with a good shoe. This is true no matter your profession, would you rather work a cosmetics counter for 9 hours in heels or the Nike Vapormax? I hope my tax dollars don't pay for this testing...The Nike Lebron 16 has been on sale for $139 for several weeks now on Eastbay
