A hybrid system work best. Respect to him, but Universal Healthcare will probably not work the way you expect. First, it will raises taxes, nothing is free. Second, the quality is down because now EVERYBODY gets healthcare, but there are still limit number of doctors and nurses. So you bet the government will dictate which doctors you'll get, when and what services you'll get. You have absolutely no saying. And third, there is no incentives to be doctors under Universal Healthcare. You dont get paid enough for the work you do.
The biggest issue with private insurances, which is the system U.S healthcare runs on, is corruption and greed. The insurance companies are mainly for profit. What better way to make profit is to take money (premiums) but deny services? It's no better than Universal Healthcare because, instead of the goverment, the insurance dictate when and what services you'll need.
So, again, a hybrid system is probably the best. But we still have to first find away to reduce the cost of healthcare. Then we can experiment with the hybrid system to find the right balance
