I recommend turning your attention down under who imprisoned the world number one tennis player for not being vaccinated, have literal camps for those with covid (akin to Nazi Germany), arrest those for not wearing a mask outdoors as well as pregnant women in their homes for criticising lockdown policies on Facebook. Compared to that, the UK is doing just fine and is hardly worthy of any pity..

  13.  @CS-xw7md  the SNP has wasted taxpayer money on independence campaigns and Westminster have diverted money straight to Scottish councils as Holyrood is not trusted to spend the money. In fact under the Barnet formula, Scotland recieves the most of anywhere in the UK. Don't fall for the SNP's divisive, Westminster blaming tactics..

  14.  @scottyfive4319  no in terms of the Barnett formula Scotland recieves more than any other region, and that's before you add on the money that Westminster send direct to Scottish councils bypassing Holyrood. You are on about it as an absolute figure since London has a higher population than Scotland.

  18. England is the most free country in the UK, as Drakeford and Sturgeon turn Wales and Scotland into authoritarian police states in the name of a virus.. But the UK is the most tolerant and least racist country in the world, so this report is inaccurate, especially as the situation is barely any different more broadly in the rest of the world. In addition, the fuel crisis is no longer an issue in the UK, and there are no shortages anymore, both exacerbated and inflicted by media hysteria and opportunists exploiting a minor issue for personal ego. This is clearly from a particular bias and not reflective of the country as a whole..

  23.  @accountreality1988  but wind farms are not useful when the wind isn't blowing which hasn't been the case recently. We have the Cambo Oil Field. We have our own natural gas supplies. We should be using that and improving our sufficiency rather than relying on imported natural gas from a political enemy.. In a nutshell, we have become too afraid of fracking.

I imagine less money would be sent to Holyrood now cause they can't be trusted to not waste money, like they did on an independence campaign that's never going to happen instead of spending it on essentials. And the money direct from Westminster to councils is going to SNP, Tory controlled ones alike (as well as Labour and Lib Dems if they still control any of them north of the border).

  28.  @scottyfive4319  that's bs because it's the likes of the Scottish Greens that are holding Scotland back from prospering due to their opposition to freeports in Scotland and opening up the Cambo Oil Field, so as it stands you wouldn't be better off in the slightest. Worse off instead. Holyrood is the most powerful devolved body in the UK and you have massive control over education, health, tax etc. all of which are royally being screwed over by the Scottish government. So the idea that Westminster still controls Scotland is for the birds just cause of the Tories. Even Labour did a much better job than the SNP. When they left office in 2007 the Scottish health system was one of the best in Europe. Since then it has kept on getting worse especially being ran by Useless Yousef who complains about too many white people holding senior roles in a 96 percent white country. Total clowns you got up there. And that's before you get to the Greens, with the likes of Ross Greer with his ridiculous assertions about Churchill, Patrick Harvey who wants drive thrus banned and wants to control your life, and of course Lorna Slater. Also, England is much more free than Scotland in terms of Covid restrictions and has had lower cases than Scotland per 100,000 as well. So if you want more freedom, come south of the border. You will be welcomed with open arms away from the nanny up there. Those unnecessary restrictions screwed up Scotland, Wales and NI much more than London ever has done and ever will.
