@nightman6349 no I didn't. As an original comment implied, socialism can lead to communism, or more generally tyranny. It has next to nothing to do with foreign intervention, which is basically only happening because of the state of the likes of Cuba or Venezuela rn. Many of them escaped for that reason. Just actually try and listen to them instead of thinking you know better, cause I'm willing to bet you never even lived or been there whereas they have. It is just another excuse to blame others rather than admit the flaws by blaming foreign intervention. After all there wouldn't be barbed wire imposed by their leaders otherwise to try and stop people escaping to capitalist countries. That should say it all. China is also the second largest economy in the world, so given they are now largely capitalist not communist as you said, then it shows truly the most viable system overall, especially as they will become the largest economy in the world soon enough. Mussiloni's fascism is another example, as his premise was 'everything within the state, nothing without the state', which is core to socialism as it initiates big government.

@gregoryferber3231 freedom and equality amongst individuals are incompatible with each other. Equal treatment however is an exception within a free society and one most people advocate. But that isn't equality. People these days get the two mixed up or don't know what they are talking about.

@MrPlannery it has in certain countries, without much if any success. That's why most of them either revolve to capitalism or retain social democracy, by providing high social and welfare services and strong safety nets for the poorest, provided by the state.

@Farhan917 its economy is in tatters because of the economic system it uses. Has nothing to do with it being a dictatorship. China is a dictatorship and they are set to become the world's largest economy by the end of the decade under authoritative capitalism.

@MrPlannery China to some extent mainly. Venezuela and Cuba to my knowledge still largely operate under this system, however I believe Cuba will slowly transition to something akin to the Scandinavian social democratic model at least..
