  1. don't forget that for 12 you require the ai chip as well, so the more tech aware will price up for hardware that is 12 compatible, which is way more expensive. this is only going to speed up the move away from windows. more stuff will move to phone and tablet apps. as the extra price of apple becomes less, there will be more moving there, and those who cannot afford to do either will be pushed into sticking with unsupported 10, or moving to linux, as is already happening outside western countries. the 10 hardware mostly won't go to landfill, it will be saved, and redirected to other countries as affordable linux machines.

  2. so will a lot of government desktops, and financial services desktops, and anywhere else where privacy is mandated either by policy, or by law. it is even possible the eu will ban recall outright, as all that lovely info will be being shipped outside the eu in contravention of current eu law.

  3. ​ @Ensue85A i used a satellite tv card, but same basic idea. when i needed ordinary tv, i used an old video recorder to decode it, then passed the output to a standard video capture card.
