@totoroben even if you do test, it can still bite you. that is what resilience planning is for. then you do chaos engineering to see how badly you plan went.

@totoroben remember, this thing is in the kernel, and they ship it to everyone at once as company policy. more importantly, the ceo was at mccafee when they basically did the identical thing. for this to have made it out of the door, they must have had lower levels of safeguards on their release than junior developers put on their phone apps. for something i kernel space, which ships all at once, that is nowhere near good enough.

@geroffmilan3328 or any other kernel mode drivers like networking, sound, video, etc. oh wait, you do. any kernel mode driver can crash it like this, and if you are lucky you have both the knowledge and the access to fix it, if not you have the next case of the same thing.
