@Forge either way facial recognition is for convenience not safety, a cop could just point your phone at your face and unlock it no matter how advanced it is. ditto for fingerprint unlock

@alifelessrock48 well yeah, for anything that could actually hold enough data to be worth that speed I agree but I was talking about situations like a flip phone needing to support the usb-c spec. Something that measures onboard memory in MB shouldn't have to waste the components on supporting speeds that high, it seems wasteful and passes the cost on to people who don't benefit from it. Just allow 2.0 speed for the edge cases like that but keep the rest of the standard intact so they can still avoid ewaste

@alifelessrock48 I can understand that. my particular form of brain damage makes me like watching progress bars so I don't mind as much
