  1. regarding begging proprietary software vendors to make Linux versions of their software...Linux is as enjoyable as it is to use currently in large part because of how open-source/foss the entire environment is. I get that many people would like to have this or that program that they know will never be open sourced so that they can move all of their work over to linux, but I think a lot of people would wake up one day and say to themselves, "wait, didn't I move to Linux to get away from this?" if proprietary software vendors all flocked to Linux. Consider Windows and MacOS as buffers to keep them out and be happy 😁
