if he loses his position after the audits we'll know

verbal sleight of hand. he knows that segregation is a dirty word to the mildly historically literate American, so he implied letting women compete without unfair interference from men is the same as being forced to sit in the back of the bus or having separate drinking fountains.

@adayah2933 I don't know if it's valid for someone with Neil's track record as a public figure. He talks about the power of the scientific method like it's a woman he hopes will notice him, so to backpedal inside his own wheelhouse (relatively speaking, he doesn't have any specialized knowledge about biology) means he's entering the debate from a weak position. If I had a mentally handicapped relative, and I scheduled a time and place to talk with someone about his/her condition, I would look foolish if after I arrived I asked why we were talking about his/her condition instead of some other topic. So it is with Neil. To cut right to the heart of the issue here, if the science communicator doesn't want to communicate about the science, it's because the science doesn't support his beliefs about men in women's spaces.

I love the way he overenunciates FAKT at 2:13 as if saying it harder makes the incantation more powerful. Behold, a scientist!

@PostalFerretWithRum if by "you" you mean trans athletes, then yes he absolutely is out to protect them. this is what happens when an astrophysicist tries to tackle even rudimentary human biology.

people like this would've started a socially stratified dark age if there was no pushback.

@imageword5576 that's the appeal to triviality fallacy
