  1. ​ @j8000  it would depend on the evil theist. building on your example he could be delusionally confident (God will make an exception for ME/I have outsmarted God!) or the victim of some kind of compulsion, or more simply he might have no sincere faith despite surrounding himself with religious kitsch and making a living in a religious organization. I could think of more examples but those are what sprang to mind first.
