@ME-CFS-LongCovid-Help you watched the video right? their main platform to sell ads on is dying so they need a new one. selling gimped VR sets that are limited to worse visuals than you can get on a 20 year old pc isn't the hail mary they need. Cute that you think my skepticism means I must not understand how that's meant to save a company the public doesn't trust.

@carinadominguez22 more like vrchat on a starvation diet, FB's virtual reality looks like a student project. there are decades old life simulators that are more appealing and realistic (and you can have legs!)

@ME-CFS-LongCovid-Help "why are they the market leader" this is like asking why McDonald's sells more fries than Outback sells steaks. Quest is designed for mass adoption but their corner cutting is going to limit what VR is capable of while Vive and Index users get actual immersion

@ME-CFS-LongCovid-Help if you're not worried about what corpos do with your data, at least worry about what breaches will do. also I'm well aware of what google does with the info I feed them, which is why this account uses the dumbest name I could come up with, has no payment info attached, and is only used for youtube. they can churn through all this data to determine what ads they think I'll engage with, but I don't see any of them anyway.
