  2. ​ @patricksfriendbobthesponge8256  dolphins would need to undergo serious bouts of atavism and become land creatures before something like that could happen. currently even most tool use is beyond them, and abilities like starting fires, metallurgy, and chemistry are impossible underwater. this is more speculative, but I also suspect needing to keep at least one half of their brain awake at all times to keep swimming and breach for air probably explains some of the nonsensical violence from dolphins.
