  1. this is the most balanced take I've seen on the issue in the comments, along with someone else who mentioned getting permanent HPPD after tripping on research chemicals. There seems to be a contingent of psychedelic fanboys that greatly downplay the risks just because they personally had productive experiences. If they're really such wonderful tools it shouldn't be necessary to present a distorted picture of what taking them is like, and getting offended that Dr. K is advocating for caution is probably a sign that their ego came back stronger than before the trip.

  2. I can't understand why so many people are upset with him for not telling his viewers to essentially beta test a drug that's not even legal in many places. I'm willing to entertain the idea that psychs could have massive benefits for lots of people, but at the same time you only ever get one brain. If he doesn't personally feel the scientific community has enough data on them he absolutely shouldn't be telling his psychologically vulnerable viewers to take it.

  3. if you actually watch the video he takes a hard stance against doing psychedelics since we don't know the long term effects

  4. that or let willing participants risk themselves in a controlled environment and wait on studies to come out, that is also an option
