  3. the strat behind intersectionality is just to gather up as many people as you can who can be told they benefit more from you winning than your enemy. the figurehead doesn't actually need to have common cause with the mob more than their willingness to bet on the figurehead and the figurehead's need for a mob. the existence of the mob takes priority over the individuals in it, so disagreements from small subgroups or individuals don't actually matter despite the messaging.

  4.  @ramblinevilmushroom  Why is the onus on anyone outside of your scene to understand your jargon? if you're using a definition of capitalism that excludes free markets, you are using shibboleths that anyone else who doesn't accept your understanding of economics and politics is interpreting differently than you. It's like if you asked me for ice cream and I gave you a bowl of frozen milk with no other ingredients, then I acted baffled when you told me it wasn't ice cream. Speak plainly.

  7.  @alyssarichardson2544  currently you can just type "vaush" into youtube and take your pick; plenty of people have described the images verbally and reacted to his stream. I won't recommend you google what was in his folder as people have tracked down all the images and they're quite explicit.

  12.  @Bongalized  this is fairly obvious whether you think it's a good thing or a bad thing; by drawing attention to all ethnic groups but one (or a few, there are some schrodinger's minorities at play) you create a vacuum that will fill itself over time.

  13. that's another problem with coconut island, it's assuming property rights is the only ethical framework and eating a coconut is the only way to stay alive. even without the advent of on-paper, ideal communism coming to save us from the monopoly man we have other value systems in place. I get that the hypothetical is deliberately stupid to draw attention to one problem in a complicated system, but I think even most ancaps with a better than lukewarm IQ would realize that values other than property are there for a reason and reinvent them if their system were ever implemented. as it stands, while sometimes people can get all of one thing and make unreasonable demands for it or achieve lesser shades of the same problem, people still have recourse. we're NOT under a system that only values property rights, and if enough people want something bad enough and take enough action things change. If this never worked outside of communism we would have no concessions and Bezos would have already converted the mass of Earth into his luxury space armada by now.

  14. it's reductio ad absurdum. monopolies are bad, but his theoretical is so simple it doesn't bear any resemblance to most people's lived experience. plus, even in the confines of the theoretical, we're on an island, there are coconuts which imply trees, and sand and water etc. the solution is to build a shelter, or a fire, or go fishing, or all of the above, and charge the Coconut Baron whatever you want for access to your resources, same as he's charging for his one resource.

I would personally attack commodities people buy as investments instead of for their intrinsic properties over children's toys personally, but I get your meaning. the economy is in a bad state which drives more and more people who otherwise wouldn't to try some variety of get rich quick scheme since the option of being a good worker and earning a good wage for a company that won't fire you without notice isn't consistently available to most people (that I know). odds are that many people think like you and would like more of the goods and services in the world to be useful and not extravagant or near-future landfill fodder. we already had that a few generations ago, and we can have it again.
