@tuckerbugeater there is some utility in getting information from a country that can't physically do anything to you. just know you're getting propaganda from somebody whichever search engine you pick.

these days it's more like DO NOT REDEEM
2
if you mean a market with competition, permitting the existence of monopolies is not a free market.
2
--guy who likes subsidizing monopolies
2
if you mean the federal reserve, yes
2
I'm not sure how it works wherever you live, but a free piece of code that you are charged $0 to use doesn't qualify as a monopoly.
2
wdym conspiracy theories? this is a real company being taken to court LOL

do you guys have some weird definition of capitalism that exempts businesses under a certain size? plenty of businesses don't have that ambition. my favorite family owned restaurant shut down when their kids wanted to do other things even though there was nothing stopping them from continuing the business, opening franchise locations, etc.
2
@titanicisshit1647 he's saying monopolies operate unimpeded until a government wants to exert more control over them

just because two phrases share a word doesn't mean they're related.

all it would take is not being subsidized by government grants for tesla to downsize or disappear, the electric car market seems to have leveled off naturally and other companies offer electric models anyway.

valve has competition, and they even let you install apps that don't come from steam on their own handheld.
1
keep an eye on the Ladybird browser
1
I'm not sure where you're getting "apple isn't a monopoly" from.
1
it's just a picture bud. is showing a picture of a CEO racist?
1
if it's a galaxy it could be samsung or google, depends on which apps are being loaded. look into rooting if you want to get rid of them
1
yes, and that's a problem unless you like paying 1000% markups for all your commodities
1
we're in the future dude, tech companies ARE the government. they have as much influence on your day to day as the state, or if you think they don't they have enough influence on everyone you know that it does affect you.
1
...did you watch the video? they're not getting sued by some guy, they're being investigated by the United States Department of Justice.
1
I hope the megacorporation sees this and gives you belly rubs.
1
yep.
1
a duopoly isn't actually better than a monopoly, and whether or not FB is essential, lots of people use it and it's influential so it warrants investigation.
1
@lukegibson6044 I'd pay for this site if it were run better.
1
ok doomer

@PixyEm oligopoly
1
@PixyEm Valve is doing fine without a single shareholder, it's time for more companies to go private.
1
if by browser engine you mean rendering engine, google getting fined won't have any effect on them. browsers using chrome's rendering engine will probably be fine too
1
the fact that microsoft is still a problem after being restricted is a sign google should be split up.
