  1. so if a living thing needs to make its own energy, does that disqualify us? we depend on mitochondria for that, which has its own genome.

  2.  @spatrk6634  so we're an organism that depends on something with it's own separate genetic code to produce enough of our energy that we can't function without it. I'm not drawing any conclusions myself, but that's very interesting.
