And yes it was kinda for morale, but also way more respect than the russian military gave them by not informing relatives. Its probably too busy to now, but Zelensky did, not nessesary the bodies but they did collect and publicize the marks of dead russians. Because its war. So zelensky and ukrainian treat them better, also the exchange wprisoners odf war didnt seem happy go go back either, which speaks volumes. So yes ukraine does care on whats possible in hectic times, and lets them surrender. Ther is a reason why there was making examples of soldiers trying to surrender, ukrainians treat them as people at least. Vets most likely do eithe safe support or other functions too. This people very open sign to run into meatgrinder while the us military has actually a lot not combat related stuff, most actually. Whyever you can compare that. This signing is, you go to the frontlines, very likely die, are thrown in meatgrinders, and your relatives might not even get the support. Which is bleak as hell. That the issue is health issues , with vets usually, is that they are very much still alive, and there is care. And Vietnam doesnt count.
