  2. Would seem that treating the hulls and putting galvanic protection on the Aluminium ships isn't that big an issue. Adding weapons isn't hard either, just wait for the newest upgrade package to come out, upgrade them to that, and then you have two ships back in combat ready status to cover the next upgrades. The gearbox/transfer case issues sounds like a whole new power plant setup is necessary. Nuclear anyone?
