Except of course the rest of the world has had these smaller sized "Utility Vehicles" rather than "pick up trucks" for DECADES.
The first of them were built in Australia in the 1930's, almost 100 years ago.
Almost all of the major manufacturers build them. Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Mazda, Isuzu, General Motors, Renault, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, as well as Mahindra, LDV, SsangYong, Great Wall etc etc.
Imagine thinking that this was a new thing because you couldn't look beyond the borders of the US of A.
